Face Covering Practices

Face masks are recommended when indoors, engaging in social interactions/environments on SWTJC campuses, and outdoors if unable to maintain a six-foot separation from other individuals.

COVID-19 Community Vaccine Clinics

Immunization clinics are available at Uvalde's SSGT Willie de Leon Civic Center every Tuesday from 3:00 pm - 8:00 pm. Appointments are not necessary.

Free At-Home COVID-19 Tests

Every home in the U.S. is eligible to order 4 free at-home COVID-⁠19 tests. The tests are completely free. Orders will usually ship in 7-12 days. Visit https://www.covidtests.gov/ to place your order.

TRUE Grant COVID-19 Tuition Assistance Funds

SWTJC students who enroll in medical assistant, phlebotomy, pharmacy technician, and medical billing and coding courses may be eligible for tuition assistance. We are now accepting student applications for these relief funds by submitting the form below.

The application window is open from February 21 through June 1

Eligibility Criteria:

  • Be a Texas resident
  • Apply for Financial Aid FAFSA or Texas Application for State Financial Aid (TASFA)
  • Affirmed to be affected by COVID-19
  • TABE Test required.  Eligible score 10 or above.

Please Note: You must have applied for the FAFSA and be in good standing to be considered for relief funds.
