WHAT IS ENLACE? |
ENLACE is a community-based program to increase the number of Hispanic students attending college and graduating with a baccalaureate degree. These students will go on to become leaders in our community in the new millennium. |
WHAT DOES ENLACE MEAN? |
ENLACE is derived from the Spanish word enlazar - to link or weave together community groups and interests so that the community is stronger. The grants' name, ENLACE, is an acronym for ENgaging LAtino Communities for Education, a W.K. Kellogg Foundation initiative in higher education.

WHAT CAN ENLACE DO FOR YOU? |
Southwest Texas Junior College, in conjunction with Uvalde ISD, can assist ENLACE students with many services and resources to help students reach their educational goals. The services listed below are only a few examples of the resources available to ENLACE students at Southwest Texas Junior College and all UCISD services are free.
1. Assistance with college admissions and financial aid forms, registration, degree plans and class scheduling. 2. Visits to many four-year universities 3. Guests at various Uvalde clubs and functions 4. Career counseling, tutoring for college admissions testing ande fee vouchers and work study programs 5. Assistance locating scholarship programs and submission of scholarship application forms |
